1. Start A blog (or two or three)
Blogs are free and can be set up to do everything from post Frequently Asked Questions to showing slide shows and invites to and from your latest event. The ZZN blog can also
- Automatically collect email names who want to be "notified" or susbscribe to you.
- Send Newsletters and track who opened them. Send online "post cards" on specials or latest blurbs
- Give away free email accounts with your business name or cause name with a link back to your site on every email sent. These email accounts let users also have a blog and track their social network feeds right as they read their email.
- Post your latest event, blog entry or thought onto facebook, twitter or the universe at the touch of a button.
- Quickly become a "must read" spot for your customers
ZZN calls these "touche points"... the more times you touch a customer, because they saw you in their facebook feed, or got an email marketing offer, or checked out your link the more they know who you are.
2. Give Away Free EMail and Build a GREAT opt in Email Mailing list. Send free Email Marketing out.
Use ZZN to give away Email and blogs. And, Build a great opt in list for Email outbound marketing. There is a great set of tips on how to do that here. Use this list to communicate to your audience on a regular basis. By using ZZN's FREE email marketing service you know that EVERY communication lets your audience opt out and is CAN SPAM complient. So.. a word to the wise... you want to be able to "touch" a customer with an offer often... so always make sure your communications are worth their time, save them money or inform them of something. Then they will always open your notices and they won't "opt out".
3. Claim your Business Directory listing with Google Local, Yahoo, Local.com, Super pages and all
ZZN has a great new feature (in beta and soon to be out there) that lets you claim your business automatically in lots of directories with the touch of a button. Once you claim these your web link is automatically there on searches and maps.
If you have a virtual business or online topic blog that promotes a business you can currently list it as a business (with your home address) on many of the directories. Go ahead and Do it. Just make sure if you are pushing something like "home design", and you have a link, you also have a link to a few good ACUTAL designers in your area with their phones etc so that visitors don't feel like you hijacked them falsely. If you have good info, visitors will linger, return and reccommend you.
4. Figure out your "influencers" and get your friends to write nice reviews and post up comments on your blog and on influencers pages about you.
If you have a business, have your friends reviews at all the local directories. Or in Yelp, etc. On your ZZN blog (or other blog system) accept comments from your friends or ones that you agree with! ZZN's comment section is wonderful in that it collects emails from everyone who comments (but doesn't post them!) and lets you put them in a mailing list for future contact (but not for spamming).
5. Get a Facebook account for your site/business. And for yourself.
Post non invasive business or informational announcements. Join as many related sites and individuals as makes sense. Note... these tend to self police so if you spam or post too often or with worthless data you will get pruned off! Collect your audience by being worthwhile!
